Brother, can you spare a dime?

It’s official. The feds have sold the infamous Mustang Ranch, a Nevada brothel the federal government seized in 1999 for failure to pay taxes. I’m both happy and sad. I’m happy because the nation is one step closer to realizing the Reason Foundation’s dream of privatizing everything (you know the old saying, first we privatize brothels then we privatize social security). Plus, the private sector always does a better job than the government. Nevada “Johns” will no doubt now get better blow jobs at half the previous price (although they will unfortunately lose the “man bites dog” opportunity to repeatedly stick it to the state). I’m sad, however, that I didn’t know until it was too late that the government was selling the brothel on e-bay. It reportedly went for $145,000. I probably could have raised that much with a really good e-mail pitch.
