John Roberts' Sound Business Credentials

Larry Kudlow has a column today that highlights the involvement of a group called the Committee for Justice in the Supreme Court nomination/selection process. Kudlow observes:
This is the first time in anyone's memory that business has entered the judicial fray, and Judge Roberts was their first choice.
Also, 40% of those cases the Supreme Court takes are related to business and the economy. I'm actually surprised that the figure is so low, given the presumption of state intervention in economic matters.

Kudlow is on the board of my favorite PAC, The Club for Growth. They have a stellar track record of supporting good fiscal conservatives, and making a real difference at the Republican primary level. Perhaps one day, an enterprising Democrat will join the fold. In the same way that Tony Blair is a Thatcherite and claims her as a seminal influence, how far is this country off from having a Democratic leader embrace the core of Ronald Reagan's economic vision?

Oh, how ridiculously optimistic and fanciful I get sometimes...
