Smells Like a Good Analogy
I know what you’ve been thinking lately, why has it been over a week since Cicero last blogged about an editorial in the Decatur Daily, the small Tennessee Valley newspaper? Well, you’re in luck. Not content with defending the right of stores to sell marijuana-flavored candy, the paper takes on Israel today with a shockingly bold editorial in opposition to giving Israel money to pay for its withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. The paper compares the country to a corrupt contractor who takes your money to repair your roof, rips the roof off and then refuses to put a new roof on until you give more money. It’s aptly titled, “Israel financial request smells like coercion.”
