That's 2-1/2 Days in Prison for Each Plant

I'm a bit of an urban gardener, and while not as hardcore as Baylen's, my backyard plot is home to tomatoes, summer squash, and a bean plant or two. So I took offense to the following story from Porter County, Indiana.
If the hundreds of large plants growing in 20-year-old Joshua Frazier's yard had been vegetable plants, there would have been enough food to feed a village.

But police said the 423 plants growing in the back yard of Frazier's home at 1938 Hamilton St. in Portage were actually marijuana.
I know there are many, many more egregious examples of asset forfeiture out there. But they ripped out this guy's plants before they knew it was weed he was growing in the front yard! Suppose he was growing kenaf instead?

He'd be out a year's crop, and Daimler-Chrysler would have to get raw materials for its dashboards elsewhere.
