What Are the Chances?
What are the chances that one would have the opportunity to investigate some very obscure notion after only recently speculating about it? Just some extremely light fare here...
I ventured away from my usual midday DC stomping grounds and was walking back to my office, after getting an empanada from Julia's on Conn. Ave, when I ran into Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Yup, these celebs were walking arm-in-arm down the street. I had noticed the movie set on my way on Conn. Ave, but I didn't bother to stop and gawk with the crowd because I was hungry and frankly, I didn't care much. However, this brief encounter allows me to post on a topic that was mentioned earlier this week and on which I was discussing with Cicero last weekend. Celebrity smells.
This Hollywood power-duo not only look very fresh and well-groomed up close, but there is actually a positive scent associated with them. Yes, I got close enough to notice that they smelled quite good. This is impressive as it was still pretty warm out and I was sweating in a very unglamorous way.
I wish I could recall what Johnny Depp smelled like when I met him in 1990. All I remember about that meeting was that I was in a bikini on South Beach and I managed to get his autograph while he told me about his bout with the stomach flu that day.
