Diagnosis: Emotional Distress

Here is a story that made me wonder, "am I missing something here?" Dr. Terry Bennett in New Hampshire is under fire for, frankly, being too frank with an overweight patient. Ironic. I often hear people complain that their doctors (like many lawyers) just are not honest enough.

In a time when most people are struggling to get their doctors to spend more than five minutes with them during an office visit (if one can even get a bloody appointment to see a doctor when needed), here is a situation when a doctor's medical opinion may actually cost the doctor more than it will cost the patient.

Apparently, Dr. Bennett's "scared straight" truth serum proved too much for this plump patient to swallow.
