Good News, Foreshadowing

Susan Torres, the pregnant 26-year-old Virginia woman left comatose as the result of brain cancer and a stroke, has given birth to a premature baby girl. That's great news. Sadly, she was also removed from life support and died soon afterwards. (I don't mean that in a Bill Frist kind of way. It's just sad that such a young person died on what likely would have been her happiest day.)

Just so this post isn't totally hijacked by sentimentality, I must admit that when I read the Daily Mail headline (Brain dead woman gives birth) I thought it was referring not to Torres but to this TtP favorite.
