What Would Jesus Smoke?

In July, the State of California banned smoking in California prisons, one of the last public places in California where people were still free to smoke. (Baylen had much to say about it here). Buried in a recent Associated Press article is an interesting fact: death row inmates in California now reportedly pay the same amount for a pouch of tobacco as a pouch of heroin - $80. I'm not sure what this says about prohibition, but if I had $80 and was about to be killed by the state I would choose heroin. Baylen would probably choose tobacco (American Spirits if he could get them). It's a good thing executions are not televised. Otherwise some dickhead Attorney General would order inmates to stop glamorizing tobacco on stage.
