Another Brick in the (Great) Wall
A government unafraid of massacring its own people has overcome its fear of the Internet. Well, maybe just a little bit.
China's government, which blocks its citizens from accessing many consequential websites, is set to debut its very own website on Saturday "on a trial basis," according to the Shanghai Daily. Once it's live, the web address will be http://www.gov.cn. Rather than representing any victory for technology or freedom, this is just another means by which the state's totalitarian central authority will exert more control over the flow of information in the country.
