Update: My Chance to be a Juror in a Drug Case

In a follow-up to this article and accompanying post on my potential jury service in a drug case earlier this month, it turns out the defendant in the case was found not guilty. I know this not because I possess any particular investigative talent but because -- through extreme fortuity -- a woman I've never met who works with my girlfriend actually served on the jury and told my girlfriend about the case.

While those of you who commented or emailed that I was principled or an idiot or some combination of the two (and I thank each of you for your insights) will likely think no different of me and my decision knowing the outcome, I hope all who read the article will be relieved that the defendant in the case has some semblance of his life back and that the state failed to lock up yet another victim of the drug war.
