In Maine Capital, Mannequins, Downtown Come to Life

An Augusta, Maine lingerie shop has found a novel way to attract attention: ditch the mannequins and instead use smoking-hot live models in its window. They're comely, range in age from 18-21, and show "more skin than a bag of pork rinds," according to the local paper.

Naturally the presence of the models in the window of the lingerie store, Spellbound, has upset some moralist elements of the small town, including a movie and video-game seller (who no doubt only sells G-rated movies and games).
"It's tainting the wholesome businesses down here," said Carrie Rossignol, co-owner of Video Game Exchange, across the road from the storefront. "I think it's selfish, and I think it's morally reprehensible. And I'm an uptight douchebag."
But other area shop owners like the display. And Augusta police officer (and I swear I'm not making up this name) Peter Couture thinks it's fine. The cops have checked out (no doubt repeatedly) the display and found nothing illegal.
