Surprise, surprise. DC's taxpayer-subsidized baseball stadium is turning out to be more expensive than we were first told. The original projection of $244 million has ballooned to $337 million. The city is shifting $55 million from important infrastructure repairs to cover the increased cost of the stadium. Sure we'll have potholes in our roads and our subway system will fall apart, but at least we will have a baseball team.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: anyone who watches the Washington Nationals play is a thief, enjoying their personal entertainment preferences at the expense of others. Why is there so much commotion over a $250 million "bridge to nowhere" in Alaska with this massive boondoggle in our backyard???
