Rats!

I have never understood Baylen's obsession with squirrels. Everyone knows the real threat to humans is rats. That's why movie after movie features evil rats, while the alleged dangers of squirrels is confined to the fringes of the blogosphere, i.e. To the People. Sure, Baylen has shown that squirrels occasionally knock out our power grids and kill our pets, but are they training to fly F-22 jets over our cities and drop bombs on them? No. But, the rats are. And they're being helped by the wacky state of Florida which is trying to create a breed of half-computer, half-rat bomber pilots. From today's Washington Express:

Just Hope the Rats Don't Turn Against Us

A rat brain in a Petri dish has learned how to fly an F-22 jet simulator, as part of a scientific effort to combine computers with biological components, the Telegraph reported. The research at the University of Florida is meant to explore ways of developing living computers to operate unmanned aircraft in missions where it is too dangerous for humans. The 25,000 cells are spread across a grid of 60 electrodes and linked to a desktop computer, then trained to use the simulator and control the plane's flight path.
