Socialism: It Can't Get You to Work

The World Socialist Web Site is calling the hours-old (and petering-out) New York City transit strike "the biggest class confrontation in the US in a generation." You betcha. It's pitting the reasonably well-paid blue-collar workers who operate mass transit (starting salary $34,000) against those often lesser-paid blue-collar workers who don't earn enough to pay the tolls and parking that characterize the daily commute of the bridge-and-tunnel crowd and so must instead rely on mass transit to get to work. And right now mass transit ain't working.

And now a word from the strike's socialist enthusiasts: This intra-class warfare has been brought to you by socialism. Making life harder on the poor for close to 100 years.
