Dubious Deutschland
A German government feel-good campaign called Du Bist Deutschland, which translates as "You are Germany," is tearing up die Blogwelt (to borrow from Daniel Rubin) and making waves in English-language blogs, too, while reminding many of a not-so-distant conflict that was grounded in Germanic identity*.
Rubin, who writes the Philadelphia Inquirer's excellent Blinq blog, has a great, link-rich post on the campaign here.
Flickr has a Du Bist group photo pool here. Official Duetsch government Du Bist site here.
*I think that's a bit much. The site is dumb, sure, but it's as multi-racial as it is stupid. If Hitler had a website, this is decidedly not how it would look.
