My Wayward New Year's Resolutions
Oh, how long it has been since I've been in the TtP fold! Despite my prior protestations about the holiday season, I actually had a fairly relaxing end of the year -- notwithstanding the conspicuous capitalist consumption (and the St. Louis Rams losing to the moribund 49ers on Christmas Eve).
One of the hallmarks of the New Year for me is to fight off the mad throngs of individuals who have discovered the gym. Why is it that so many are determined to "get in shape" as part of their New Year's resolution? The optimum time to work out should always be right now... right? If past trends hold true, the crowds will get back to normal come mid-February.
As for myself, I resolve to hone my incisive critical thinking skills even further this year. I also resolve to pick up the pace on my "recreational" book reading.
Oh, and I guess I should do more cardio...
