Nanny Gets Spanked

Seattle Weekly staff writer Philip Dawdy lays a ferocious smackdown on the nanny state and the so-called "progressives" who prop it up. One of his better characterizations:
It's like a Mormon fell in love with a Baptist and the two gave birth to a public-health official.
Whole beautiful thing here. I previously wrote about the smokeless/titless in Seattle phenomenon here.

Update: As Radley Balko notes, he's quoted in the article. (Naturally it's a good one.) I have a bad habit of reading quotes and passing over who utters them unless I find the quote despicable.

Update II: Balko has the goods on an exchange between Dawdy and some asshole from Smokefree.Nut who invites Dawdy and others to join him in a fascist "civilized society."
