Truce with Bin Laden?

Not sure what to make of this alleged offer by Bin Laden to institute a truce. Are we getting close enough to him that he's scared? Possibly. Or maybe he's trying to show that he supports peace, while the U.S. supports war. That would be some good global PR, even if it's a lie. All I know is that I really would like something that "prevents the wasting of billions of dollars that have gone to those with influence and merchants of war in America."
