New Hampshire Legislators to Soldiers: Fuck You!

If there's one thing I hate more than smoking bans that issue I promised not to talk about for a week, it's the 21 drinking age limit. It unconstitutionally discriminates against adults based on age and is supported by the same kind of health fascists that support smoking bans that issue I'm not supposed to talk about.

I was optimistic that a proposed bill in New Hampshire to lower the drinking age to 18 for active-duty members of the military would pass. Who could argue that people have a right to kill people, but not a right to have a few beers after a long day of killing people? But, the New Hampshire House Judiciary Committee just killed the bill. Drop bombs that kill a dozen babies? Oh, that's fine. Take a shot of tequila? That should be a crime. The good news - for soldiers - is that Wisconsin just dropped the $500 fine for underage drinking to just $10 for servicemembers.

Congress should repeal the federal law that denies federal highway dollars to states that set a drinking age below 21. States should stop sucking off the federal tit and build their own god damn highways. A bill by Congressman Garrett (R-NJ/5th) would essentially do both.
