Not So Tough Now Are You, Tool

Not only has The Hammer lost his position as Majority Leader, he has lost his right to carry a concealed weapon in Texas. From Roll Call (subscription required).
Like other Texans charged with a felony, indicted Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Texas) has been relieved of his license to pack heat. A judge in Fort Bend County upheld the Texas Department of Public Safety's decision earlier this year to suspend DeLay's license to carry a concealed handgun.

...A spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, Tela Mange, told [Heard on the Hill] that Texas law "is very clear, no matter who you are. ... We would suspend or revoke a handgun license of someone who has been accused of a crime." If DeLay is found not guilty of the money laundering charges against him or if his case is dismissed, then his license would be reinstated, Mange said.
Of course, people who are merely accused of a crime should not have their rights taken away. They're innocent until proven guilty. Delay, like any Texan charged with a felony, should get his gun back.
