The Worst Government That $1.5 Trillion Can Buy
The incompetence of the US government has been nothing less than shocking in the past few years. The bungling of the Iraq War, the inept preparation for and response to Hurricane Katrina and the Keystone Kops implementation of the Medicare drug benefit have combined to make the US government, which sucks $1.5 trillion in taxes from its citizens' pockets each year, look like a very expensive Mickey Mouse operation.
Now, to add to the rogue's gallery of US government stumbles, DOJ just blew its case against Zacarias Moussaoui, on which it has spent untold millions over the course of 4 1/2 years of preparation and proceedings. A government lawyer improperly coached witnesses, leading the judge to say,

"I don't think in the annals of criminal law there has ever been a case with this many significant problems."I think we should offshore the Department of Justice. $10 an hour Indian lawyers would likely be more diligent and conscientious than some of the career clowns we currently employ at tremendous expense. In the least, I would like to see the lawyers involved with this case fired for their inexcusable incompetence. In the private sector, they never would have made it this far.
