We've Got Spirit, Yes We Do; We've Got No Midriffs, How 'Bout Yooouuu?

The Australian body that governs cheerleading has banned midriff-baring attire because showing skin "in front of family groups" may somehow "encourage eating disorders".
"We don't want girls to feel under pressure to lose weight because of uniforms,'' [Nerine Cooper, national cheerleading manager for Gymnastics Australia,] told Sydney's Sunday Telegraph.
I don't think I've ever read an article in which I agreed with any notion that follows the words "we don't want".

Last year an ACLU director jokingly wondered if Texas, which also banned the belly button, might instead just "require them all to wear a burqa".
