The Guard is Going to the Border

Bush, in an a knee-jerk reaction to improve his poll standings by using the immigration issue to win votes, is ready to send the National Guard to the border. This is the same ill-trained Keystone Kops operation that disgraced our nation by torturing and humiliating prisoners at Abu Ghraib.

If we really want to be an Imperial power that invades foreign lands and deploys troops to our border than we should have a draft, and not leave those tasks to those who are career mercenaries and the borderline unemployable.
