Economically ignorant Christian moralizer Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) hopes to be in Congress until the day he dies.

"I have said I will be defeated or die in office. I am not Strom Thurmond. I do not eat a banana every day."

Senate Finance Chairman Grassley, making clear today in a conference call with Iowa reporters his plan to stay in Congress as long as possible, although without resorting to some of the health habits of the legendary Thurmond, the longest-serving senator in U.S. history.
