Memorial Day TtP Contest
Here is my challenge to all of you who, like me, are enjoying a quiet (read: boring) weekend at home in an empty city, though I did get snarled in a dramatic motorcade road shut-down today which was worse than rush hour:
Name one piece of good legislation that Congress has passed in the last five years. That should be simple but, alas, it has stumped me. To qualify as "good," the legislation must be simple (i.e. not a bureaucratic paperwork nightmare), enhance individual rights or liberty, or at least not restrict them, not "sunset" like the tax cuts, and not cost taxpayers any money. Go get 'em!The winner gets a $25 certificate for drinks at the Lucky Bar. If you don't live in DC, well, you should visit. It is a fun place when you don't get snarled in a Secret Service operation. Besides my road detour today, this week I also endured an ATM shutdown so Paul Wolfowitz could get some cash. This truly is Hollywood for ugly people, and Wolfowitz is the anti-Brad Pitt.
