Why Don't I Just Put This Cigarette Out in Your Eye?
Via CQ I learned this morning that Virginia moron and member of Congress James Moran (D-VA) offered a surprise amendment yesterday to the draft 2007 Legislative Branch appropriations bill that bans smoking at the Rayburn House Office Building cafeteria, which has a designated room off the dining area for that purpose. The amendment was approved by a voice vote.
Moran told his House Appropriations Committee colleagues that the smoke wafts out of the room, exposing visitors, staff and cafeteria workers.Answer: Because they're lazy.
It was apparent from the reaction that a number of members were opposed. But only one, Henry Bonilla, R-Texas, spoke up.
“If people are offended or bothered by the smoking, why don’t they just eat somewhere else?” he asked.
