God Floods Washington

We all know that God punished gay men with HIV and that Hurricane Katrina and 9/11 were God's wrath for US toleration of homosexuals (for more, see here), but what are we to make of the Biblical floods that are drowning Washington now, closing major thoroughfares and government buildings and wreaking havoc in many a good citizen's basement?

The rains yesterday broke a record last set in 1870, a year in which Virginia, Georgia and Mississippi were admitted back into the US and the Department of Justice was created. Is there religious significance to God flooding Washington on this year? Or is it because God is upset about NSA spying and that Congress rivals good old Babylon? Which is in Iraq, by the way. Oh, and the marines built a helipad there in 2003 that nearly collapsed some important ruins. Maybe God is upset about that??
