The Bikini: Less Fabric a Firm Part of Our Fabric

The teeny, weeny, itsy, bitsy attention-grabbing tanning device turns 60 this month. We've seen it evolve into this NSFW nipplabious creation, and we've seen it devolve back to this. Either way, it's never bad on the right person.

But, since everything good must have a foil, the WaPo's Robin Ghivan points out how throwback suitmakers like Swim Modest and WholesomeWear are attiring godly, overly modest bathers in muu muu-like bathing burqas from which a "thrifty person could outfit an entire sorority in bikinis".
