The Times We Live In
25,000 residents of Queens lost electricity last week because of damaged power lines. Half are still without electricity. Now, some New York politicians want Queens to be declared a "disaster" area so they can get federal your money. They also want electric company officials to go to prison for "not doing enough" to restore power.
State Assemblyman Michael Gianaris, a Democrat whose constituents bore the brunt of the power outage, told reporters that Con Edison officials should be held criminally responsible.I ordered a hamburger the other day. I wanted it medium, but they served it to me well-done. I demand satisfaction. And by satisfaction I mean federal welfare. And I want that cook in jail. God bless the new America. Have a bad week, get paid. Get bad service, throw someone in jail.
"How can anyone believe anything Con Ed says?" he said. "I think what they did was criminal, and I hope to see some people who work at Con Ed in handcuffs before this is over."
