We Don't Really Need Arab Linguists.

After a bunch of anonymous emails, the Army conducted an 8 month investigation which culminated in dismissing a decorated sergeant with Arabic language skillz.

"The director brought everyone into the hallway and told us about this e-mail
they had just received and blatantly asked, 'Which one of you are gay?'" [the discharged sgt] said.

The Center for the Study of Sexual Minorities in the Military at UCSB estimates that Don't Ask, Don't Tell has cost the Pentagon almost $369 million in discharge/replacement costs.

Investigators interviewed the sergeant, asking him if he understood the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy, if he had any gay friends, "and if he was involved in community theatre."
