Screen or Smokescreen?

We're all a lot safer since the UK stopped that terror plot last week, right? I mean, they're pretty goddamn thorough now with their passenger screening. Right? Not exactly.

Items recovered from a woman who caused a disturbance that resulted in the diversion of a US-UK flight earlier today:

"a screw driver, matches, Vaseline and a note referencing al-Qaida"

Items found on the woman that belong to categories of stuff that's banned from UK flights:

Screw driver (if longer than 7 inches);
Matches (unless safety matches);
Vaseline (banned as a gel); and
Note referencing al-Qaida (if containing threat or threats).

Good work, UK screeners.
