If You're Traveling Through South Carolina, Better Leave Your DNA Behind

Anyone arrested and taken to jail in South Carolina would be required to open wide for a DNA sample under proposed legislation.

[S]ponsors say the law would help get repeat offenders off the street and verify if a person is innocent.

Senate President Pro Tem Glenn McConnell says swabbing a suspect's mouth is no more invasive than taking fingerprints.
Helping the innocent? Right. Because South Carolina laws are notoriously lenient.
