The Scrotum Debate

I stumbled upon the scrotum debate innocently, asking the clerk at the Politics & Prose info desk where to find a book I wanted when all went silent as the employee who had her back to me said, "Scrotum!," and the word hung in the air.

The other employees apologized but I was just amused.
