Tell Me More, Tell Me More, Like Does He Have a Big Hog...
Mrs Obama in Galmour: [emphasis mine]
More from Michelle:
I should note that campaign slogan didn't work for me back when I was running for 10th grade Treasurer. But I meant it more in a hide-in-the-girls-bathroom-and-creep-you-out kinda way. Not the whole I'll-change-the-world approach. And I was 21 at the time, coaching girls soccer at the high school....So I may have had a flawed strategy from the beginning is what I'm saying.

Mrs. Obama: You know my hope in my gut is that I am just Mommy. I don’t think this part registers to them. I mean so much of our relationship is based on our world at home. It’s getting up [...] you know we have this ritual in the morning. We get up and they want ten more minutes so they can come in my bed and if Dad isn’t there [...] because he is too snore-y and stinky, they don’t want ever to get in the bed with him [...] but we cuddle up and we talk. We’ve talked about everything from the boy that one daughter doesn’t particularly like in school to what is a period to ..."Snore-y and stinky"? That's great. And who doesn't enjoy a frank discussion in bed with 6 and 9 year olds about periods?? Am I right folks??

TONYA LEWIS LEE: People seem to think that you are the secret weapon of your husband’s campaign.Vote for Obama! He'll give you goosebumps!
MICHELLE OBAMA: I feel so much passion for this candidacy. When we made the decision to get in this race, there was a side of me that said, “Oh, no. This is going to be so personally disruptive—why put yourself through that?” But then I let myself dream about what his presidency would mean [to the nation and the world] and I get goose bumps.
TLL: You once said, “Politics is a waste of time.”
MO: That statement reflects my cynicism about politics, not about Barack. My thought has always been that he has something special to offer the political process, which can be a mean-spirited game. Over the years I’ve become more confident in people’s ability to recognize a good thing.
