Insensitive Remarks About Dead People OK As Long As You're Gawker Media

I don't know if Deadspin has always cross-posted other Gawker properties, but it seems like it's gotten worse and I hate that shit. Annoying. I demand more from my blogs that I read for free while taking a shit at work.

So that's my defense for reading this quick hit from Gawker about big meanie Rush Limbaugh:

Rush Limbaugh Honors George Steinbrenner With Racist Idiocy

Rush Limbaugh's touching tribute to deceased Yankees owner George Steinbrenner: "That cracker made a lot of African-American millionaires!" Sure: Don Mattingly, Joe Torre, Andy Pettitte, Roger Clemens...Come on, fat boy. At least be human. Remember Donovan McNabb? [Media Matters]
Whatever. Good for Gawker. They can make fun of Rush Limbaugh. THAT IS REALLY HARD FUCKING COMEDY TO MAKE RIGHT THERE.

I'd guess the Rush quote had context, but even if it didn't, all the guy did was just make an insensitive comment about a dead guy. You know, kinda what Deadspin did a handful of posts before:
Pablo Sandoval, Noted Fatass, To Speak To Children About Heart Health

Thanks, PR person from the American Heart Association, for letting us know about the 250-plus lb. Sandoval telling children how to eat right and keep their hearts healthy. What, was George Steinbrenner not available?
Look, I think that joke is funny. I'd be proud to make a joke like that 6 hours after a man had died from a massive heart attack. Really I would.

I could just do without the indignation about "What Horrible Thing Rush Said Today", when your own co-workers are making tasteless fucking jokes. Grow up. Find something more difficult to make fun of besides a fat conservative who talks on the radio for 3 hours everyday. My cat who eats benadryl can write jokes about Rush Limbaugh. It's not interesting.
